This week I tried something new and it went down well! A simple plan (and therefore a simple workout) but very VERY hard work! This plan is for a 60 minute class. HOW DOES TABATA BOXING WORK?
Tabata is 20 seconds work then 10 seconds rest x 8 = 1 song For example, in Round 1, Partner 1 does the punching while Partner 2 is on pads. After 1 song (4 minutes) they swap pads and gloves and do Round 1 again. Therefore, each round takes c10 minutes (allowing for time to swap gloves/pads and have a sip of water). Six rounds = 60 minutes of super high intensity work. RUN: For us we are in a community hall so both the Boxer and Padder run about 4m to the wall and back to the centre before repeating the sequence. SPRAWL: Is basically both the Boxer and Padder lay pronated on the floor. A proper Chest to Floor is required. Then they spring back up a repeat the sequence. KO: Knock out is where both the Boxer and Padder lay on the floor supinated, touch the floor with their hands above their head then spring back onto their feet and repeat the sequence. THE PLAN ROUND 1 = 1,2,1,2,3,8, RUN ROUND 2 = 3,4,Roll,4,7, RUN ROUND 3 = 3,Pause,3,4,3,4,7, RUN ROUND 4 = 1,1,1,2,1,2, SPRAWL ROUND 5 = 1,2,Duck,2,Duck,2,Duck,2, KO ROUND 6 = 3,4,7,2,Duck,2,7, KO What Did You Think? If you used this workout plan then I hope you enjoyed it and got lots of value from it. Please leave me a comment and let me know how it went. If I've got you for a moment longer - please consider funding my next coffee and drop me a wee donation to my PayPal account at [email protected].
